Is there an OpenSeaMap app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac?
Yes. Rivers & Seas brings OpenSeaMap navigation marks, depths, AIS, and your own places together on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. A Mac is especially comfortable for planning or as a large map aboard, with the position supplied directly by the iPhone when needed.
Does OpenSeaMap include water depths?
OpenSeaMap supplies the nautical navigation marks. For marine and coastal areas, Rivers & Seas adds a separate Seascape depth map with color shading, depth contours, and spot depths.
Can I see AIS vessels on the OpenSeaMap chart?
Yes. Available current AIS targets appear directly on the same boating map. Rivers & Seas can combine internet AIS with data from your own onboard AIS receiver, so you do not have to look for other vessels in a second app.
Do I have to plan a route before I set off?
No. On supported inland waterways, Rivers & Seas recognizes the waterway ahead while you cruise and automatically orders bridges, locks, notices, and vessel traffic. You can simply set off and see what matters next.
